Wall Mounted Kitchen Faucets

Kitchens have often been the focal point of the property, a warm welcoming area where friends and family meet and discuss their plans, often accompanied by the aroma of something good cooking in the oven!

In recent years however, for some, this has changed. Enter the designer kitchen, with their wall mounted kitchen faucets.

Designer kitchens have evolved in recent years – built in radios and TVs, designer toasters, coffee machines and microwaves. Sliding doors, electric doors – you name it, it’s been designed and fitted as kitchen manufacturers come up with new ways for us to spend our money.

This is particularly evident in the huge range kitchen faucets, particularly wall mounted kitchen faucets.

Wall mounted kitchen faucets have the advantage over sink mounted faucets as they do not allow water to drip back down the stem and onto either the base of the faucet or work surface and cause marks or discolouration.

Wall mounted kitchen faucets come in a wide variety of colours and finishes, from stainless steel to gold plated, from modular to antique finish. Similarly, the actual type of wall mounted kitchen faucet varies from a single hand type faucet, where temperature and flow is controlled by a single lever, to those with the more traditional type of levers or wheels.

One of the main benefits of wall mounted kitchen faucets is that the water pipes themselves that feed the faucets run up the inside of the wall. With sink mounted faucets, the water pipes are run in the kitchen cupboards which take up space not used by wall mounted kitchen faucets.

Care should be taken to ensure that there is an access panel in the wall, so that pipes can be reached in the event of a leak.

Wall mount kitchen faucets are particularly popular when combined with a raised back sink. This is a sink that has what is basically a splash back, a vertical section that runs up the wall, in the same way as wall tiles are often used. Wall mounted kitchen faucets are often designed with these types of sinks in mind, as they fit perfectly through the raised back.

Finally, wall mounted kitchen faucets are often the only choice if you are considering an old fashioned style farmhouse sink. Farmhouse sinks have become very popular in recent years, but because they are usually the depth of any worktop, there is often no room to fit faucets, other than wall mounted kitchen faucets.
